Perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater at 2,286 meters above sea level (with a 600 m sheer drop down to the crater floor), the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge affords one of the greatest views of the crater. The lodge is a 3-hour drive from Arusha and 90 minutes from Manyara. The airstrip is only a 10-minute drive away. The Lodge is moderately priced, as it is with the other properties in the Wildlife Lodges chain.

 

NUMBER OF ROOMS & DESCRIPTION:Its 75 rooms have bathrooms en suite, and the lounge features a fireplace and panoramic windows which open on to a terrace serving as an observation deck for the crater below.

 

RESTAURANTS & BAR:Empakai Bar: There is one bar open daily in the main lounge area. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere, very inviting on those chilly evenings at Ngorongoro Crater.Rhino Restaurant: The restaurant provides three meals daily, although varied options are available dependent on occupancy, eg: bush dinner etc.Menus are varied between buffet and a la carte depending on occupancy
